Shadowing Opportunities for Students
Connecting with a Counselor: Journey into the Field of Genetic Counseling
Connecting with a genetic counselor is a great way to obtain hands-on learning regarding a career in genetic counseling, and is targeted towards undergraduate students or graduates interested in entering the field.
While the Connecting with a Counselor through the University of Minnesota program is currently undergoing review and revision, we'd like to encourage those who would like to learn more about the genetic counseling profession and shadowing opportunities to continue to seek these out with current resources through the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) or Mayo Clinic's Informational Interview and Shadowship program.
Please visit https://findageneticcounselor.nsgc.org/ to find a genetic counselor near you to connect with and inquire about shadowing opportunities and visit Mayo Clinic's Genetic Counseling Informational Interview & Shadowship Application.
